ND-BIOSCOPE Accelerator Fund
The Notre Dame Biothreat Surveillance, Containment, & Operational Preparedness Engine (ND-BIOSCOPE) is a cross-disciplinary initiative of the Berthiaume Institute for Precision Health, ND Sensor Initiative, the Warren Center for Drug Discovery, and REDI-NET addressing risks from emergent pathogens and biological threats. ND-BIOSCOPE aims to build capacity in next-generation sensor technologies, AI-driven analytics, bio-surveillance networks, and rapid therapeutic development pipelines to strengthen global health resilience.
As part of this mission, ND-BIOSCOPE is launching the Accelerator Fund, an award mechanism designed to foster interdisciplinary team science and expand Notre Dame’s institutional readiness in biothreat detection, surveillance, and countermeasure development. Through this program, teams will be supported in pursuing high-risk, high-reward projects that advance biosurveillance platforms, sensor innovation, and therapeutic countermeasures. Beyond generating breakthrough discoveries, funded projects are expected to enhance Notre Dame’s collaborative research capacity, strengthen translational pipelines, and position the university for sustained leadership and competitive federal funding in emergent biothreat preparedness.
